Alta Orthopedics in Millburn, New Jersey, is a full-service orthopedic practice that offers cutting-edge technology for diagnosing and treating bone and joint conditions and injuries. Founded by Amish Naik, MD, PhD, an experienced, board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Alta Orthopedics provides women, men, and children in the North Jersey and New York Metropolitan areas a seamless, patient-first therapeutic experience.
Dr. Naik and his team are trained as active, compassionate listeners. Whenever possible, they recommend conservative treatments first, including rest and physical therapy. Dr. Naik is an expert at minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to repair torn or injured tendons, ligaments, and bones, and to replace badly damaged joints.
Throughout his career, Dr. Naik witnessed patients recover from devastating accidents with the aid of their families, doctors, therapists, and nursing staff. This experience inspired his mission to give each patient the focused, state-of-the-art care they need so they can get back to the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Naik earned his medical and doctorate degrees at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, under the prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program scholarship sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. He did a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, followed by additional training in hand surgery and reconstructive shoulder surgery at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases, the historic Bellevue Hospital Center, and Mount Sinai Beth Israel, all in New York City. He’s board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Because injuries and debilitating pain can strike at any time, Alta Orthopedics is open during some weekend hours as well as during the workweek. Dr. Naik is currently affiliated with Northwell Health’s Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville, New York, RWJBarnabas Health in Livingston, New Jersey, St Joseph Regional Medical Center, Paterson, New Jersey, and St Joseph Wayne Medical Center, Wayne, New Jersey.
